The first edition of Mobiz, the Quebec Mobile Congress, ended on Monday, October 31 under the banner of innovation as companies finalists in Mobiz Awards contest presented their projects to the players of the mobile industry.

It is through mobile interactive voting from the public that 2XM Interactive won the 2011 Mobiz Startup Award.

2XM Interactive: Mobiz Startup Award 2011

Mobiz Startup Award was accompanied by a $ 2,000 grant awarded by Ingenio.

2XM interactive, established in Montreal in 2008, crafts mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7, along with interactive touch surface solutions for storefronts and mobile units.

2XM’s mobile software platform allows for unique interactive experiences in which crowds can simulatneously join in through their own mobile devices. The first version of this platform allowed the STM to transform the 80,000 U2 fans at the Montreal concert into virtual bus drivers. By simply opening the browser of their smartphones, visitors were able to collaboratively control their on-screen 3D bus as if they were holding an actual wheel.

This system, which requires no app download or data plan, and which works on any smartphone, allows users to control elements of their environment they were never able to control before, in an easy, massively social and engaging manner.”
